Welcome to Navwar's web site. Navwar was started in the early 1970's to provide affordable ship models for wargamers, in scales that were appropriate to wargamers rather than modellers. For most periods this meant a scale of 1/3000 which allowed large scale actions in a reasonable area. In the case of earlier periods, where range is not so important, a scale of 1/1200 scale was chosen, although we now make many sailing ships in both scales. With the increase in interest in wargaming world wide we started to manufacture the Heroics and Ros Range of 1/300 tanks, figures and aircraft . Later, we introduced our Naismith range of true 15mm figures, and subsequently our range of Roundway 'Large' 15mm figures. Some 36 years on, we continue to produce models specifically for wargamers with the same aim of affordability in appropriate scales, and as regular visitors to our premises in Seven Kings will know, we actually stock the items we advertise, and in most cases manufacture them on the premises.
THE HEROICS & ROS RANGE HAS NOW BEEN SOLD (in order to enable us to concentrate on the remaining lines) AND WE NOW NO LONGER MANUFACTURE OR SUPPLY HEROICS & ROS MODELS, BUT THESE MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE NEW OWNER, ANDY KIRK, WHO WILL BE TRADING UNDER THE NAME HEROICS AND ROS, www.heroicsandros.co.uk, AND WHOSE FAX NUMBER, 0208 890 6265, will be available from 20th December. We wish him every success with his new venture.
Our restricted opening hours at the shop are designed to ensure prompt dispatch of mail orders. Until April 2006, we only sold by paper catalogue or by personal visit, but several of our overseas customers asked for information to be made available on the web and this site is our response. Please note that we accept orders by post or fax, but we have no e-mail facilities and regret we are unable to take telephone orders.
When placing an order, by Mail or Fax, please remember to include your full address. Personal visitors are always welcome at our shop in Seven Kings, East London on Saturday afternoons between 12.30 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. when our phone line is open for any queries . Our Spring 2010 Catalogue is available, either as a paper copy, price £1.00, or as a pdf download (free). Site updated 11 July 2010.
